Remarketing allows you to place a pixel on your site, and serve targeted ads to users that have visited your site – as they travel the web. Remarketing is a powerful marketing tool that can help recapture visitors that didn’t convert on their first visit to your website.

Google offers three types of remarketing campaigns:

  • Remarketing List for Search Ads (RLSA)
Retarget users with text-based search ads (eg. Adwords ads).
A user visits your site and is pixeled. They then received targeted text based search ads when searching on Google.
  • Remarketing via the Google Display Network (GDN)
Retargeting of users via display ads (eg. banners).
A user visits your site and is pixeled. They then received targeted banner advertisements as they travel to different websites.
  • Remarketing via YouTube
Retarget YouTube users via display and/or text ads.
A user views/comments/likes your video on YouTube and is pixeled. They then receive banner and/or text ads as they travel the web.

Gmail Sponsored Promotions

Deliver subject lines, teasers, and full-page ads directly to targeted inboxes of Gmail users.

GSP is a unique ad type that shows up only in personal Gmail boxes in the promotions tab.

The ads are comprised of two creative elements:

  • A ‘teaser ad’ with 25 character text headline, 100 characters of body text, a 50×50 image and a “Company Name” you declare.
  • An expanded ad which is a 600×1000 (maximum) piece of simple html that can feature images, text, links, a form field, embedded videos, and click-to-call phone numbers.

The advertiser is charged on a CPC basis when a user clicks on the teaser ad. Advertisers can target by age, gender, language, location – and arguably most important – by device type.
